A Week Of Old People

The parents decended on us last week. They didn't stay with us, thankfully, because our spare room is a mess and we have no bed for them so they stayed with our distant (and quite eccentric) relatives.

As Martin was using the time off work to study, I had to be out of the house to leave him in the peace and quiet, so I hung out with the olds for most of the weekend.

MARTIN AND I HAD TUESDAY ..ooops, caps.. off work as well and in the evening we went to see Loreena McKennitt. It fucken kicked ass!! For those of you who dont know her music, you're missing out. I think she did some of the music for Lord of the Rings, although that could have been Enya. Anyway, I highly recommend her stuff. Hew new album, An Ancient Muse, is just fantastic. My other favourite of her albums is The Mask and the Mirror.

I didn't do any writing this week, although I was very inspired by the concert, but I still had a good easter even though I didn't make any progress. I did, however, get to read loads of the latest book I'm reading, Royal Assasin, and I'm just pages from the end. I'll have to buy the next book on my way home tonight. I can dawdle a bit coz I'm leaving early to get home in time to pick up the car from Kwik Fit. (New exhaust).

So, I didn't get up to much over the weekend. Just ate lots of chocolate, and tried not to go insane by being around the oldies for too long. We did go to a boot sale on Sunday, which was good. I spent about 45p and came home with three items, so that was a bit of a bargain. Then we went out for dinner Sunday night with Martin's parents as well. The stupid pub/restaurant fucked up our table. I specifically requested a table inside the dining room (which is a really nice room, great atmosphere), but when we got there they had us set up to sit in the bar area right next to where the waitresses flutter about.

Fuck that.

I moaned and they made the people who were sitting at our table in the dining room move. The stupid pub shouldn't have been greedy in trying to have two seatings for dinner.

But it all turned out fine in the end.

Not much else went on... had a lazy day yesterday. Read for most of it. I know I should have been writing, but I had a migraine come on... its still battering my head to pieces now.

I'm going to go and get some chocolate. Even if that doesn't fix it it'll make me feel better.
